The Red Wagons are the leading jump blues band in Italy.

 

Formed in 1998, The Red Wagons is a band from Italy that draws on the sounds and rhythms of black R&B from the 40's and 50's to present an explosive mix of rhythm and blues  boogie-woogie, jump blues, rock 'n' roll and swing.

 

 

The six-piece formation experiments with original compositions and interprets them with thematic cover versions of the greats of the blues such as Louis Jordan, T-Bone Walker, Percy Mayfield, Charles Brown, Roscoe Gordon, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Red Prysock, Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson, Ray Charles, Louis Prima, Buddy Johnson and many more.

 

 

In 2004, the band began to collaborate with Mitch Woods, the famous singer and pianist of San Francisco. who chooses them as an official band during his Italian tour. In the summer of 2007 Red Wagons goes on tour in Italy with Junior Watson the "King of West Coast Blues" and with him many blues festivals.

 

In 2004 the Jump Bluesers released their first album "ULLALLA BOOGIE". This album was very well received by the media. The radio stations RAI Stereo One - Radio Centro Suono played the songs of the debut album for

 

weeks in their radio shows. 2012 saw the release of JUMPIN' WITH FRIENDS, the next great blues album by Red Wagons Blues Band.

 

 

It a very ambitious project with the extraordinary collaboration of some of the most important living blues artists. Junior Watson, Sugar Ray Norcia, Lynwood Slim, Mitch Woods, Igor Prado on saxophone were invited to the studio and an outstanding CD production was born.

 

 

For more than 21 years Italy's Swinging Jump Blues Act has been on the stage of the most prestigious blues and jazz festivals.

The Red Wagons opened for B.B. King, Robert Cray, Bo Diddley, Freddie Bell,  Ford Blues Band,  Roscoe Mitchell &The Note Factory and Zucchero.
