Mike Sponza - The Masterclass

Mike Sponza is known for his unmistakable style, which combines blues, soul, rock and jazz and has been on the European blues scene since the early 90s. Born and raised in Italy, Sponza began playing guitar at the age of 14 and quickly fell in love with the blues.

He was inspired by legendary artists such as B.B. King, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix and spent countless hours practicing and perfecting his craft.

He has achieved a number of prestigious collaborations in his musical rise that are truly unusual for an Italian blues musician. Mike is a big fan of collaboration and in his career has made music, tours and albums with Duke Robillard, Dana Gillespie, Georgie Fame, Lucky Peterson, Bob Margolin, Ian Siegal and Nico Wayne Toussaint.

"Made In The Sixties" (2018): the album, co-written with the legendary late songwriter Pete Brown and produced at Abbey Road Studios, is the Italian bluesman's personal homage to the sixties.

In ten tracks, one for each year of the decade, Mike Sponza and Pete Brown recount the brightest and darkest moments of this fantastic historical period.

A milestone for the musician!

It is the musician's sixth album. Mike Sponza is currently back in the studio to present two more albums this year.

Mike Sponza is a highly talented musician who can move stylistically in many genres without losing the flair of the blues.
