After many long jam sessions in the Back Porch Lounge, with countless musicians dropping by, Michael "Big Mike" Ventimiglia, Glen "Cuzz" Hutchison, Chris Crider, Greg Stewart and Ed Smith
co-founded the blues band "Big Mike and the Booty Daddy ".
In 1995, the international blues sensation "Big Mike and the Booty Papas" began to play their way into the hearts of audiences around the world.
The band soon recorded their debut album "Red Hot Blues," with a compilation of original songs and cover versions that proved to be a great success.
"Big Mike's" new approach to the genre garnered wide acclaim and the album was honored as one of WRFG's Top 25 Blues Records. This was followed by the Grammy nominations for "The Best New Blues Artist" and "The Best Contemporary Blues Album"
With their second album "Keep your hand out my pocket" in 2004, Band convinced with funky sound, some really good own songs as well as a terrific cover version of the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic "Curtis Love". Recorded and produced at "Wild Bean Studios" in Macon, Ga. Big Mike was supported by a 54-piece gospel choir, David Ragsdale on the violin, Mike Causey on guitar, Walt Scott on the keyboard, and the Atlanta Horns.
The longplayer was rated very well by the press. Worldwide, "Keep your hand out my pocket" was presented by Food Network in the show "Food Nation with Bobby Flay".
In 2013, Mike and the Botty Papas played a successful European tour. Throughout his concerts, people danced for his contagious grooves and sophisticated rhythms that his fans know and love.
In 2015, his Risky Bid'ness album hit the music market and in 2016 his seventh and so far last released release "The Hustle is real"
